Through images, I explore the changeable landscape, encompassing its history and present to document the physical environment in that moment of time I am there to witness it.
I work mainly in pre-1900s historic photographic processes with the occasional exploration of more modern mediums. Using photographic processes that were common in the late 1800s while documenting the present landscapes that contain remnants of their past brings a new perspective.
At the same time, I use these images as a way to try and navigate my own relationship with nature and my place in it.
I am also looking at ways to make my photographic practices more sustainable and environmentally friendly, including using plant based developers, finding alternatives to ammonium thiosulfate based fixers, and exploring other processes in my image making.
