Through images, I explore the changeable landscape, encompassing its history and its present to document a physical environment in that moment of time in which I am there to witness it.
I work mainly in pre 1900s historic photographic processes with the occasional more modern medium appearing. Using photographic processes that were common in the late 1800s while photographing the present, which contains remnants of the past brings time into a new perspective.
At the same time, I use these images as a way to try and navigate my own relationship with nature and my place in it.
I am also looking at ways to make my photographic practices more sustainable and environmentally friendly, including using plant based developers and finding alternatives to ammonium thiosulfate based fixers.
